Although today it is possible to interact with ChatGPT and the new Bing Chat from the web, Microsoft has taken the time to also integrate the experience directly into the Microsoft Edge browser.
The new Bing for the browser, also known as “Edge Copilot”, “Discover” or “Bing Chat”, has arrived and here we tell you how to use it.
It is undeniable that there is an absolute rage for the use of ChatGPT among web users today. As a result, Bing has become a much more popular browser than ever before.
All thanks to the fact that Microsoft signed an agreement with the OpenAI people to integrate the famous Artificial Intelligence into the search engine.
So it was only a matter of time before the company took the next step and added the platform within its Chromium-based browser: Edge.
How to use the ChatGPT-powered Big Copilot in your Edge browser
Microsoft has released an unmissable update to its Edge browser for Windows 11, Windows 10, macOS, and Linux. In this renewed version we can now find a shortcut to Bing Chat, powered by ChatGPT.
The new Bing integration sits in the top right corner as a button that opens a dropdown menu with three different Copilot tools, including the Chat option, which is what we’ll be using today. But first let’s give a quick overview of all the alternatives:
The “Chat” tab allows you to interact with the chatbot just like you do on the web.
The “Compose” tab includes options to quickly create different types of content, such as emails, articles, ideas, or paragraphs.
And the “Insights” tab is nothing more than search information related to the content you’re viewing in Microsoft Edge.
To then use ChatGPT from your new Edge browser, you just have to follow these simple steps:
- Open Microsoft Edge.
- Click the Bing logo in the upper right corner and sign in with your Microsoft account.
- In the “Set response tone” section, choose the “Balanced” option (recommended).
- Click the “Yes, activate” option to allow the company to access the content of your browser to allow Bing to understand the context.
- Write the question or request and that’s it.
Following these simple steps it will be possible to start using Bing Chat or Microsoft Copilot with ChatGPT in your Edge browser.
