Surprise from Konami. The Japanese company has revealed the existence of Suikoden I & II HD Remaster: Gate Rune and Dunan Unification Warsor what is the same, the return of the two fully remastered Suikoden.
Sure enough, the legendary RPG installments will be available on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam sometime in 2023. So, we can expect several juicy changes to both installments that will improve their look and gameplay.
For example, now the background illustrations will be in HD and new effects have been added to highlight the exquisite pixel art animation. The sound has also been retouched so that the environmental effects have a greater presence and an autosave system has been included.
As usual with RPG re-releases from several decades ago, a fast-forward system has been included for battles. In turn, we will have a record of the conversations that we carry out in both works. Suikoden I came to the first PlayStation in 1995, with subsequent release on the Sega Saturn, while Suikoden II we first saw it in 1998, all in Japan for later release in Europe.
The first Suikoden did not have texts in Spanish, which will be corrected in this revision. On the other hand, Konami has given us a few minutes of gameplay that you can enjoy below.
