Dexter’s Laboratory is one of the most iconic cartoons on Cartoon Network. Being one of the first original productions of this channel, many fondly remember this character and his crazy adventures. With hundreds of episodes, this series is full of iconic, funny moments and some memes that last to this day. In this way, here we present the five best chapters that Dexter’s Laboratory has for us.
5-. Beard To Be Feared/Quackor The Fowl/Ant Pants (season two, episode one) 7.8
The second season of the series began with a triple function, something common considering that each chapter lasted about 10 minutes. Of these three, the first is one of the most iconic. Here we find Dexter wishing he had a beard. After a series of complicated events, the boy genius learns that the real beard is not on our face, but inside us. On the other hand, Quackor The Fowl is focused on a fight between Dexter’s monkey and Cerebro’s duck, the rival of our protagonist. Finally, Ant Pants in a classic episode that is focused on the relationship with Deedee, Dexter’s sister.
4-. Dollhouse Drama/The Justice Friends: Krunk’s Date/The Big Cheese (season one, episode nine) 7.8
Once again, one of this trio is impregnated in the collective memory. This is The Big Cheese, where Dexter learns a new French word. Surely you already know what it is, but if not, we are talking about “Omelette du Fromage”, a meme that is still present on the internet to this day. Next, The Justice Friends: Krunk’s Date draws a lot of attention by introducing us to a parody of She-Hulk, known as She-Thing. These hero episodes have always been my favorites, and they offer a nice break from the adventures of the boy genius.
3-. Dexter’s Rival/Dial M For Monkey: Simion/Old Man Dexter (season one, episode three) 7.9
This is the first time that we see three concepts that become a fundamental part of the series. First we have Brain, Dexter’s biggest rival, someone who will become a problem for the future of humanity. In Dial M For Monkey: Simion we are introduced to Dexter’s monkey, who at first glance looks like any other primate, but is actually a hero who protects planet Earth from various dangers. Finally, in Old Man Dexter it is made clear that the great intelligence of the protagonist is not always a benefit, since when he becomes an old man, his desire to see an adult movie does not come true as planned.
two-. rude removal 8.1
You are probably wondering what Rude Removal is. Well, this was an episode that was originally created for the first season of the cartoon, where Dexter and Deedee’s negative attitude takes a bodily form, and they start to perform a series of unpleasant actions, including saying rudeness. Although this point was censored, Cartoon Network never aired this episode. It wasn’t until 2013, when Adult Swim was able to air this segment, that the public finally had access to one of the forgotten episodes. The result? A chapter loved by all fans.
1-. Last But Not Beast (season three, episode 39) 8.2
This time around, Dexter travels to Japan as an exchange student, where he engages in a Mazinger Z-style fight, which makes sense considering that by the 90s, this was the most popular mecha play in the West. This was originally going to be the series finale, so several characters discover Dexter’s secret laboratory. However, the popularity of this show gave us a movie, and a couple of additional seasons that never quite managed to capture the essence of the original work.
