Logitech’s $30 F710 gamepad was the controller for the OceanGate submarine that is now wanted by air and sea, according to a capsule featured on a CBS News show.
In the capsule, OceanGate CEO Stockton Rush, one of the five people currently missing on the submarine, can be seen showing control to the show’s host, assuring that he “runs everything.”
In addition, the television host revealed the components with which the submersible was built as Camper World lights and construction pipes as ballast. Rush explained that other parts of the craft were made in cooperation with Boeing, NASA and the University of Washington.
In accordance with The Vergegame controllers are used in other cases to control underwater periscopes, including by the US Navy and Elon Musk’s The Boring Company.
